The European Travel Commission (ETC) is an association of National Tourism Organizations (NTOs). It was created in 1948 to promote Europe as a destination to long-haul tourism markets. It currently has 37 members: the NTOs of the 27 member countries of the European Union (Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Germany, Greece, Holland, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovak Republic, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden and 12 other countries (Croatia, FYR Macedonia, Georgia, Iceland, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, San Marino, Serbia, Switzerland, Turkey, Ukraine). The ETC represents their members in all marketing and promotional initiatives . Head office based in Brussels,Belgium with representatives worldwide responsible for marketing their respective region.

• assist in the participation of trade and consumer fairs and/or marketplaces.
• develop promotional strategies on a project by project basis.
• help in the distribution and promotion of tourist information.
• develop integrated marketing and media initiatives to bring awareness to the consumer and trade.
• grow Canadian visits to the destination through synergies with other travel related tourism industry partners.
